Hoosier Hysteria – A New Experience

I have never had the chance to be a part of a “Midnight Madness” event in my college career. Hoosier Hysteria was attended by over 16,000 Hoosier alumni, locals, and students. Indiana is still trying to get over the stain left by Kelvin Sampson four seasons ago. For the first time in the four seasons since Tom Crean has taken over, optimism is more than just a word.

Crean expects the turnaround to begin now. He knows it has to or his job and goodwill on campus may start to wane.

On Saturday night, Crean mentioned Big Ten and National Championship to the Assembly Hall crowd. While those goals are lofty for a squad that went 12-20 a season ago, it provides a sense of hope. The Assembly Hall faithful want something to root for. Hopefully, Tom Crean can provide it.

I took some pictures from Hoosier Hysteria. Keep in mind I am literally 3 rows from the top. Hopefully my season tickets are a bit closer.

My favorite picture is of the banners coming in a bit blurry. To me, it resembles the past is farther away than anyone wants to admit.

It’s NOT Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Being from the Tri-state area, my loathe for Philadelphia is pretty high. They are brash, rude, and often have an inferiority complex when it comes to  New York.

NFL Notes- Week 4

Every Tuesday were going to break down a few things that we saw during yesterday’s games. Whether it be a great performance, a humiliating collapse (See Tony Romo….. again.), a questionable call or a game winning kick. There is always something to discuss when talking about the National Football League. Read the rest of this entry

Defining Success: New York Jets

I had a conversation with a colleague of mine about success of a sport franchise, more specific the New York Jets. He argued that in my lifetime the Jets have not been ‘successful’. To me, that could not be farther than the truth. This is by far the best era in Jets football and while winning is defined by championships, it is hard to argue the success of the Jets over the last 15 (including this one) seasons. MLB Postseason: NLDS Previews

The National League playoffs are always harder for me to watch. Being a Mets fan, I hate that they have not been in the postseason since 2006. Regardless, here are my non-bias (hopefully) NLDS picks. Read the rest of this entry

MLB Postseason: ALDS Previews

Anyone who knows me knows I love baseball, particularly postseason baseball more than any other sport. Football takes a backseat (except when Jets are on), when the script for October is being written. Let’s take a look at the American League first. Read the rest of this entry
